STARTING STRONG: Whatever happened to the Holy Spirit?
Romans 8:26-27
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Verses 18-26
Our present sufferings are not comparable with glory of resurrection and eternity with God (Good News!!)
Everything in all creation is groaning in anticipation for eternity with God
Although we can’t see it, we know it, and we want it, we are tired of life away from God.
IN THE SAME WAY
there is a sense that the Spirit can’t wait either!!
2 different “Interecedes”
verse 26- the intercession is with deep groans
verse 27- the intercession is actually a consultation, a meeting to discuss someone
Intercede: He “Goes between” and intervenes to help us in weakness AND in our ignorance
What does this look like in reality
Pray mindfully of the Holy Spirit
Slow down and be comforted
Hard times can reveal some glaring weaknesses in our faith and our life, it should be encouraging to know The Spirit is speaking to God on our behalf.
